Those who enjoy crafts often find that they soon run out of ideas of what to do with their finished projects. They usually give them away as gifts to friends and family. It gets to the point where they would like to get a return on their hard work. A good option for being able to do this, is by selling them at a craft show.

This may be easier said than done. Not every area has a craft show, and it may mean too much traveling to get to some of these. The solution here is for one to start their own craft show. This can be fun and exciting as well as rewarding.

There are several steps that must be taken in order to create a successful craft show.

The Space

It is going to be a bit of a challenge to decide on the size of the space without first knowing how many participants can be drummed up to attend the show. But it is wise to check out the area first to see what is available. This can be the starting point as far as options go. But no decision should be made as yet.

Finding the participants

More than likely there are many different crafts people in the area. It is just a matter of finding them. This is where the first phase of marketing is going to have to take place. The word has to get out that vendors are needed for your craft show.

Setting the price

Once a good response has been achieved from the marketing, it then gives you a good idea of the size of space that is going to be needed. Then a decision has to be made as to whether vendors are responsible for providing their own tables. There can be positive and negatives to this. Ideally, all tables should be the same size. Otherwise there could be problems with the space allotment for each vendor. So the option is to have the vendors supply their own tables, but give a specific size.
